Hey all.

When I was buying gear, for some reason I thought buying LP 108's was a good idea. If I recall correctly, it was because I didn't want to pay to switch my regulator over, and I think there was concern about whether a random dive shop could fill it.

Now that I'm older and more traveled, I've never come across a dive shop that I've brought my tanks to that couldn't fill an HP tank. I've also become tired of lugging them around, and I doubt I would ever double them up.

So, is there any obvious pitfalls to selling off the LP 108's and picking up HP 100's?

Thanks,

Mark

The HP 100 is the defacto std steel cylinder. The loss in ~7 to ~12lbs in dry weight is great and in the case of the Faber the additional negative buoyancy may let you drop a few pounds of lead. Just double check your buoyancy needs.

About the only pit fall is the cost and the fact that one can jack LP cylinders up to a higher pressure and get a few more psi of gas. I like filling mine to 3000 psi which gives 120cuft. of gas.
