Thats a whole new debate there, boat people. There are alot of FACTS that need to be known about that before we can start on the boat people debate. Its one of the hottest topics in West Oz, always has been.

i recently came back from the Red Sea, I was staying on a dive safari at Marsa Alam, this place is set up for diving and diving, so you would think religion wouldn't come in to it...........
while we were there, we mentioned to the Dutch manager that things were geting a little bit serious with IRAQ, 2 days later we were told by the extremely pissed off Egyptians, who did make things a little uncomfotable for us westerners that the USA had invaded IRAQ.
We put them straight after phoning home, but we were sh**ing ourselves, there we were in a Muslim country, guys with AK's everywhere and they were running around saying the US had invaded IRAQ.
Even though these people were in no way connected with Bin Laden, they were still anti western because of the Muslim/Islam thing, i don't think this will ever get sorted.
my dad sumed it up after several extended trips to Libya and Saudi back in the late 70's, early 80's (he was in Libya when the police woman got shot in London outside the Libian embassy), "they are nutters and if any one is going to start the next war and end the world it will be them, because they would cut off their nose to spite their face".

One thing we all must remeber.
You CANNOT use western/american philosophies and theories to understand the beliefs of the extremists.
They do not think like us.
How do you reason with someone who thinks that they will go to a better place if they kill an American in the name of God.
These people do not think like we do. The value of life is next to nothing.
The average person in the middle east does not believe they are doing anything wrong. They do not know any differant. Its there way of life, wrong as it may be, its there choosing.
In order to change the way they think, you must change everything they have ever thought or done, and everything they believe in.
Thats a big ask.

I guess thats why they hide in caves!
They are still living in the past!
One thing ive noticed they use modern things when it helps them.
watching the taliban on tv using cell phones driving SUVs and carrying AK47s. While punishing the people for flying kites and not growing beards? I guess you are right we and they will never agree!!

you would think that while these people lived and trained in the western world they would see the real side of us, and not the brainwash crap they get fed.
to be honest i couldn't give a flying f*** what some ones religion is, it doesn't bother me, what bothers me is when they use religion to attack me.
the man up stairs what ever colour or religion he is has a lot to answer for, and if he is all seeing etc. etc. i suggest he gets down spec savers and get an eye check, because he's rocking the boat big time!

But thats not literacy,
Thats just an opinion formed by a westerner who has lived and worked in those conditions for years.
My Father also moved to another county and adopted Islam as his religion. He have many healthy discussions on religion when I visit him.
Lets just say I have viewed the situation from both sides.

that sounds a bit like our channel tunnel, there are many in the UK that would be happy for it to be sealed or the army constantly placed on guard there.
we have something like 200,000 immigrants legal and non, coming into the uk every year.
the french give them free passage (which is against EU rules) and they come to the UK, as soon as they touch the land, they claim political asylum..............which is complete bo**ocks.
i have heard many a person say "let the army shoot the first 50 coming through, they will soon stop".
ther is nothing GREAT about Britain anymore, it is full of third world hanger ons and bogus asylum seekers who want everything for nothing, the tax and insurance i pay is not going towards my future or medical treatment, it is going to these people, and our loony lefty government is just letting them come in.
