i never did make it to the oil rigs with Scuba Company but this past week i made it to the Texas Flower Gardens and Stetson Bank with Caribbean Dive Shop out of New Orleans. We took the MV Spree (great crew!) and had the opportunity to dive one of the oil rig platforms in the area.

wow.

we stayed around 40 feet and i got some amazing coral shots. two turtles were hanging out with us around the platform legs. we did not chase them and they swam right up to us. they were really quite friendly. i snapped a few photos and then put the camera down and just took it all in.

wow. that was the most spectactular dive i've had thus far.
