I'm looking for a pocket to use on my webbing waist strap, not too deep. A 6x7 or even 6x9 would be just about right to hold my slate and a couple of small things I like to carry.

I've tried the OMS weight pocket but it's too bulky, a couple of the Dive Rites are too flat. I only need it to be about 1" deep. I found a mesh one by Zeagle that only has a plastic clip at the top but there's no way to mount it on my belt.

Any ideas? I've looked at online photos until my eyes bled but it's so hard to tell without 'coon fingering' them if they'll work. So I thought I'd ask you guys what you use and prefer.

Thanks

Dee, I use the Zeagle Sport Utility Pocket. It's 6x9, light weight and has a heavy rear strap on the back so it can be placed over a web belt. The zipper is double ended so you can chose which way it will open. I added a couple of brass grommets to the strap and use a double ended bolt to hold it in place on the BC- the ones Zeagle uses to attach the cumberbun and crotch straps to it's BC's. My Zeagle already has grommeted holes in the BC to attach it but it would be very easy to put a hole in any web belt.

I use the Diverite thigh pocket, 3rd one down. It loops around the waist strap. You can adjust how low it sits. And it has a couple of leg straps to keep it in place against your leg. It's a little bit bigger than what you're looking for, but I'm sure you'll find more stuff to put in there if you look hard enough!

Herman....are those smaller loops at the top wide enough for a 2" web belt? That pocket looks close to that I'm looking for. Heck, we may even have one in our old gear bin. At one time seems like we had 1 of every accessary Zeagle made!

Dive-aholic....I've got one of the DR thigh pockets and it's a cool one. Problem is I end up cramming everything I own into it! :D Not a problem in our local lake where I'm not near the bottom but on WW dive trips I get close to the bottom for photos and skimming my way through swim-thrus and the deep pockets snag and drag when the rest of me doesn't.

What 2 loops!? I had not even noticed them, I had to use the larger loop.
But yep they fit nicely over my 2" weight belt and the webing of an old BP I have.

Glue a DUI velcro pocket to your wetsuit thigh. I've got a 3mm, 5mm and a 7mm. All of them have a pocket glued to the right thigh exactly where I chose it to be!

Nice idea, and I do have one on my 3mm but I don't always wear a wetsuit. A .5mm or skin is usually about it and neither one is heavy enough for a pocket.
