Hey everyone! I'm new here and I already love this site!! Anyway, I'm a 20 yr. old female from north Georgia fixing to start my Advanced Dive training. I love to SCUBA and want to eventually start a career in this field. My instructor was telling me about a school in Ft. Lauderdale called Pro Dive (i think...) and I'm really interested in finding out more information about it. Apparently I can join and in as little as 2 months, I could graduate as a Master Diver, or even a Dive Instructor. Problem is, I can't find any websites about the school, only sites trying to sell me gear or something else! If anyone knows what I'm talking about, I'd love for you guys to help me find some info! Also, I mentioned I wanted to start a career relating to SCUBA. Any suggestions on what I should do next???
Thanks ya'll!
Brooke

Hi Brooke

Can i ask you a question? I can understand your love of diving, woukd you really want to after only two months of expierence becoming certified as an instructor and haveing a group of divers, who you have no idea about there skill level looking to you for answers.

Don't get me wrong i'm not trying to put you off, but diving expierence comes with time, so unless your really prepared to have peoples lives depend on you i wouldn't look to go on the fast track.

take some time and enjoy diving, get some expierece and then go for the gold.

just some advice, the final decision is yours, read a few articles in here before you decide.

Welcome aboard,
I would recommend you work up to DM first and take a break. Spend at least a full year as a DM try to work with at least 100 students before you become an Instructor. I understand your enthusiasm for diving and the drive to share this with others, but diving is a serious business. It only takes one lawsuit to ruin your entire life! I recommend that you spend time as a DM because it will allow you to hone your skills and spot problems before they happen.

If you are interested in agencies other than PADI, we have 2 TDI/SDI Instructor Trainers in B’ham and I would be happy to put you in touch with them if you would like.
