I just got back into diving by doing my AOW this past weekend. Before this past weekend, I hadn't dove in a few years. My sister and brother-in-law flew in from Seattle to do the AOW with me. I don't know anyone in this area that dives. I am looking for people to dive with. I have no access to a boat, but would love to pair up with someone who does. The shore dives we did were okay but it seems like there is never great visibility on shore diving. I am used to diving in the Florida Keys and would love to find some better visibility. We went out to the Sulfer Barge for my AOW and it was an awsome dive. About 40ft viz and lots of marine life. I would love to be able to find some people in this area to dive with. My only other option would be to do some of the chartered dives but I don't have anyone to buddy up with. I don't really like booking on a boat and then trying to pair up with someone I have never spoken to before. Please let me know if you are willing to dive with a novice diver and know the area.

Thanks

Michelle

Welcome! There's a lot of divers in the area. Just keep watching this forum for upcoming dives.

There has been talk about a meet and greet in that area in the (hopefully) not too distant future. Would be a great way to meet people prior to diving with them. There should be posts made in this section when further plans are made.

Well, I'll be in Sarasota Nov 10-28th but don't think I'll be doing any diving.

I am a student at USF although I commute to Tampa for classes. I am a biology major. I also work two jobs. I work at the Olive Garden as a server and at a vets office as a receptionist. I keep pretty busy but really want to squeeze in some diving time.
