Read your post...I'm a local area diver and do a lot of shore diving. I'm always willing to get wet and would be happy to have you join one of our excursions

Treasurecoastdiver,

If you have not been to da bridge, aka Blue Heron Bridge, or just BHB in Riviera Beach--go!! Google it for lots of info. The site is a 1 hr drive down us1 to a left at Blue Heron Blvd. Past Force E dive shop and across the tall bridge to a left into Phil Foster Park. Enter the water off sand and go. We saw a Seahorse yesterday and a Pipefish a week ago. Sea Robins and Flying Gurnards are seen here. Yesterday there were clouds of baitfish. I saw some small schools of Bar Jacks and 1 small Barracuda evidently feeding on the Silversides yesterday. We try to go during the week to avoid the large weekend crowds there............Depending on where you are in PSL, it might be easier to go down 95 or a combo 95 and the Turnpike--we are east of us1 near Jensen Beach, so 1 works very well for us.

Hey Mike, I'm headed down to West Palm today. I have plans for Saturday and Sunday morning. I may stay through Tuesday to dive the bridge. The high tides look a little early or pretty late for the weekend time frame. I'll PM you my number and you can call if you feel like you might want to check it out. It is an easy shallow dive but high tide entry is important. Best to get there an hour early and be in the water and ready around 30 minutes prior. If you have a camera bring it, this is also a no hunt/take zone. Park hours are sunrise to sunset, I'll be bringing my dive flag.

Saturday high at 5:30pm
Monday high at 6:45am
Tuesday high at 7:45am

Greatings fellow TreasureCoaster! -- I shore dive bathtub to Pepper Park whenever we get lucky enough to measure the vis in feet and not inches. Exciting news. A fellow co-worker of mine is starting a dive charter on a 35' Bertram. He is going to put trips together when the conditions permit it to the historic wrecks in the area Halsey, Amazone and Rankin. I am looking forward to seeing a WW 2 torpedo'd ship.

The current witchdoctor dance for the area shore diving is. 4 days of moderate wind from the west. 1' or less seas. North Current. Then the vis will normally come around to something worth diving. The beach diving here is awesome when you can get the right conditions. If it is murky and cold 72F or less it has been my experience Bullsharks come into the first and second reef line to feed in the low vis. I personally feel uneasty running face first into Bullsharks in 3' of vis and stay out of the water those days.
