Hi folks,

We just bought some new regs., and I'd like to get some bags to protect them for travel, etc.

Any recommendations for reasonably priced, good reg. bags? There are two of us, so we'd need either two bags or one that holds two reg setups (primary, secondary, octo, gauges, hoses).

Go to Target (wish I could :( !)

and buy insulated food bags they come in all sizes. Nice colors, mine are Duacati yellow. Cheap.

I gutted a hard sided brief case. It will hold 3 to 4 regs with some hoses disconnected. And on many flights, it does not even count as a carry on.

...well, 'ARMOR' recently came out with a 'dual reg' bag, it's VERY well padded and holds 2 reg sets in 2 separate compartments.......it's very sturdy and I've been very happy with it so far...I even ordered a 2nd such bag from my LDS today...I don't remember the price, maybe $ 60.00, but it's well worth it, given I always bring at least 2 reg sets on trips, and each one is worth $ 2000.00, so it's holding $ 4000 worth of regs/computers.

Thanks for the replies so far, folks. Keep 'em coming!

Catherine, do you mean those lunch boxes with fabric (nylon?) on the outside, a zipper and a hard plastic liner? Interesting idea.

awap and Catherine, what do you use for padding?

I don't use any padding. They are pretty packed in there and, with all the hoses, there is very little movement.

They are like thermal lunch box-bags. Padded a bit, but we pack clothes around them. One thing we have given up, is the "staying pure" on bag contents. Too important to shift weight distribution around. So..maybe my mask goes in a bootie...maybe the reg bag goes in the clothing case. maybe the strobe does or doesn't....the trick, for us has been to stay flexible and yet pad the fragile items.

We never pay overweight but push it to the max as best as possible. For a long time, my reg just went in my t-shirt stash and no bag required...JB is a bit more organized, so now he puts them in bags. ?? why, not sure.
I will post a pic.

Ditto on Catherines food bag, I looked for an inexpensive reg bag for a while and then came upon a brand called "FROZN" in K-mart. it's 11 x 14 x 3 inches, has a liner thats meant to keep food cold but it is soft and pliable. It also came with handles, a strap, and a long side pouch which fits my wallet, keys and nitrox tables. The top of the bag is 3" and the bottom is 5 " so it kind of stands up by itself. 9 bucks and change.

Good advice, I'll have to look around K-Mart, Target, and such.

Thanks!
