Looked to secure my trauma shears but I don't think a tri-glide will work

Switched to new shears and the 2" belt webbing is quite a bit larger than 2" as you can see so it won't stay on when kitting up to save it's life. So basically, I take it off and clip it off before/after each dive which is getting annoying. With it being so large, it'll slide right over a tri-glide. Let me know what tricks you all have for this?

Thanks, Dave.

This solution is genius (and effective).
(Edit: Click to jump to the details.)

Would a loop of bungee cord (or similar) figure-eighted around the back side work? Loop onto the belt, then the sheath, then twist and loop the bungee again on the belt?

I took mine to the shoe repair guy who added a stitch line making it smaller, charged me $2

I don't see how to get from Step 2 to the end result.

Me neither, trying to my best to figure out what he did there. Update, just found the OG post here.
Thanks for this @inquis

I'll have to see if they would be willing to do that for me but good thought.

The sheath is very flexible fabric so i have a feeling I'd end up distorting the sheath making it hard to get the shears in/out.

Crucially, Steps 3 and 4. 🤣 J/k, fold the end of the belt back on itself and run it through the inner tube. Then pull the tubing across the rear pouch webbing as you return the belt to the normal orientation (running straight through the pouch).

You could also use two tri-glides that can utilize double layers of webbing, and a 4"-6" section of webbing on the inside of the belt to lock it in place....

Simple stitch can make the loop smaller, won't distort the sheath at all.

Where are you based? If in the UK i can help you out
