I just noticed this thread after doing some stats for The Dive Club's website and saw some hits from here. Beach diving is still good until November when the aquatic life tends to move offshore where the waters are fractionally warmer. We still have one beach dive left on the schedule which is our pumpkin carving competition. That's next to OBI (near Robert Moses beach). We have it at high tide as the current flows strongly in the bay though the small cove is semi protected from that. Everyone is welcome.

We'll be sitting down and setting up a schedule for next year over the winter if anyone wants to help us do that we'll be glad of the extra company. There is normally over a dozen people at that meeting and we are all poring over tide tables seeing what we can fit in and where and when.

LIDA is holding a film festivalon Dec. 5th which will be an opportunity to meet lots more divers than are in our club (just under 100). I highly encourage you to get tickets for that.

It's on Nov. 1st at 8:45 am.
