I am planning on taking a day trip to Avalon to do some diving on my birthday. I haven't been to the Casino since last year, and the locker re-installation project at the point was still idle. Have the new lockers been in installed yet?

If not, are the lockers near the boat terminal large enough to fit a steel 120 tank + gear ? I don't mind having to rent a couple lockers out to accomplish this. I want to be able to get some drinks and food after the diving and I am worried I won't have a place to stash my gear.

Any update/advice would be appreciated.

The baggage people are good to watch your stuff. My buddy and I will give them our dive gear after diving and go get food and drink. Although our last trip the closed at 7:30pm instead of 8:30pm. They also raised the price to $40.

I would also like to know about the lockers at the point.
There are 2 sets of lockers at the ferry dock. The ones facing you when you get off the ferry are pretty small.
If I remember correctly they are about $1.00 or $1.50 each time you open them.
The other set is on the backside behind the luggage transport counter. I believe there are 2 sizes, medium and large.
I think they were $4 & $6 a day with unlimited entry. You pay at the luggage counter and they give you a key.
The large ones probably would hold all you gears.
Another option is the luggage transport guys. It is $8 round trip to bring you gear to the point.
When we are ready to leave we call them for pick up, then go eat, and then stroll over and get our stuff.
Oh and on my last trip over they were enforcing the weight limit for dive gear. I had to remove 10 lbs of stuff and put it in an extra duffle I had taken to use as a wet bag coming back. Return trip, no problem.
Maybe Dr. Bill will chime in and give us an update.

Still no lockers and the bathrooms are still filthy porta-potties. With all the upgrades going on in town it sure would be nice to upgrade the dive park area but I don't see that happening for a while.
