So Cal Guppy:
-I really wish I could use a nose pincher or whatever they call them. Jeff said I should practise pinching my nose while watching tv. :rofl3: I know he means well.

I've been trying to wrap my brain around this... is he trying to help you become a mouth breather so that you won't have trouble breathing through the regulator??

If so, that's creative! I wouldn't worry about it though! You won't be able to breathe through your nose underwater with a mask on so it all takes care of itself!

It'll be fine. ;)

Deb, What I was trying to dois explain to Erika how to shut off her nose when breathing without her mask this is the most difficult task for her that she will do in her O/W training. I was trying to explain to her to yes practice being a mouth breather so she could get used to closing off her nose. I also told her to practice equalizing her nose while sitting around watching T.V or working on the computer every so often equalize her ears so that her ears would get more loose and equalizing would be easier when she is at depth.

Sounds good, Shaggy! I am not an instructor so I don't keep up on techniques for new students but it seems harmless and might work. Don't let her blow out an eardrum on the sofa!

Guppy, it will all work out when you're doing the practice drills in the water and then in the ocean. Sometimes it takes a few tries but that's OK. You'll get it!

Hello Everrreeebboddeee!! (Like Grover.) Tonight was our first meeting for Scuba class. I passed the first Quiz. Have to read up to Chapter 4 to be tested on. Ouch!
Then off to the pool in Cypress from 2 to 6. [long sigh]

time for me to go to bed because I have school tomorrow!
