My daughter and grand daughters live here. We are planning to visit later this month. Can you shore dive from Highland Park? Where are the dive shops. I was reading there is a ship wreck off the coast. I assume a dry suite. Any way to get certified in dry suite while there.
Thanks

Just in case frog pond doesn't fit your needs try Elmer's Watersports, http://elmerswatersports.com they're in Evanston which is south of Highland Park but an excellent shop.

When you dive in the Great Lakes, you are basically talking wreck diving. The main shore dive I know about is the George Morley, off of Greenwood in Evanston. I've know people that have dived it recently but I have not. At this time of year, you can probably get by with a 7mm wet suit.
