I wonder what was the most number of lobsters you & your dive buddy have caught *per person per dive*, ever - without the use of cages but only a stick, a gauge & a bag. Of course that you should only count legal-sized ones that you actually brought ashore.

You are qualified whether you have a lobster license or whether you assisted someone who has one.

My record: 3 per person per dive
Location: Norman's Woe, MA
Time: Aug '05
# of divers incl. me: 2 (my buddy is licensed, I assisted)

Please share your record with us.

I got 26 by myself a few years ago doing 2 tanks in my "secret spot". I haven't come close to repeating this in the last few years. Now that we can only take 10, I have limited out twice this year.

"You shoulda been here a few years ago. Lobstahs everywheah!"

not in NE but 17 2 divers 1 Dive no sticks, spears, nothing but tackling them in Panama.

Not that is matters much as most of us generally don't bump into the limit, but it's 15, not 10.

Can I ask if it is true that lobsters are more scarce now than lets say 5-10 years ago. This is what I have heard when talking to locals. But I see no hard data to prove this fact.

Ive been lobster diving since 1987.
I dont see any drop off in numbers!
I see a lot more huge lobsters and v notched ones than ever before!!!

If you count Spiny Crayfish (Florida bugs) it was a little over 1500 lbs for one looong day.
The commercial trappers had new rules passed to screw with the commercial dive harvesters & now the daily take is down to a mere pittance per day per [commercial] license holder.
