Now being a avid deer hunter, I've known for years that deer can smell humans many hundred yards away. Do you think that lobsters have the same type of scences?

Yes. From what I've read, lobsters rely primarily on their sense of smell for hunting and social/mating behavior, and it's acute enough that they can distinguish between different species of mussel by scent alone. Given that, and all the alien smells of neoprene and so forth that divers must reek of, I'd be shocked if a lobster down current didn't know you were coming well before you could even see the rock it's hiding under.

If you want an enlightening read, check out The Secret Life of Lobsters.

I tought that I was just being kinda funny here. But if sharks and other fish can smell bodily fluids many miles away, why can't other forms of sealife?

And another interesting observance of the lobste. Is that they are either very curious or just creatures of habit just like deer. For example if yu do spook a deer. I've been told by very experienced hunters. That it's a good idea to just stay still for a while at where you are, becuase in a little while that deer will come right back to the place that it was at. And they are curious creatures about what is around them.

Well after hunting lobsters the last couple of times. I've noticed that if a lobster gets spooked and goes back into its hole, if you wait a few minutes, the lobster will start to ease it self back out of the hole again.

Yeah... great sense of smell, but they make up for it with a lousy attention span.

Is that the one by Trevor Corson? If it is, that's a great book.
Yes, that's the one.

I don't think we'll be seeing any new films from the "Gone Wild" series for a while, but if they try it I'm sure an Environmental Police officer will be there to make sure they're all legal.

I think the guy who made all those films is in jail right now for underage girls being in the films. Then he tried to bribe the jailer I think afterwards. even more trouble.

Maybe, but it could also be the brand of cigars I smoke underwater.
