I'm thinking about going to Roatan for our 25th anniversary and have some questions. Has anyone stayed at Island Pearl? Seems like a nice place. Important to us.. snorkeling, beaches, resturants and diving. Is it safe to drive around and leave your car to go snorkeling? Can you drive at night to go to resturants? Any advise? Thanks JOE

There is essentially no shore snorkeling (or diving) available by parking your car in Roatan and wading into the briney blue. You're looking at probably the best spot in Roatan (outside of CoCoView) for snorkeling. CCV may have better variety and availability of shore access, but it's nowhere near your criteria of restaurants and beaches.

In the West Bay, you are in "restaurant central" for Roatan. The West End area is where 99% of them are located. You won't need a car.

I would not bother to drive my own car on Roatan or anywhere in Honduras due to the liability issues. I recommend hiring a driver. It's cheaper in every way.

shows the resort you mention.
