Suggestion live chat feature?

Any thoughts on adding a live chat feature on here (either as real time private messaging, or an actual chat room, or both)?? I think it would be fun, maybe accessable for paying members only?

I can host an IRC server if you can find a java based chat client. Which I'm sure you guys have a cluster of servers running this ship so you could probably host it yourselves. Just offering a helping hand =)

I would guess it's going to be available to all... would be pointless for supporters only IMO.
