thanks for the info Hawkwood
Did the customs entry take a long time, I am wondering if I would be able to make the camyan air
flight to LC if I only had an hour or so to enter through customs and make it to the CA flight before it left. Otherwise we will have to sit in the airport for 3-4 hours waiting for the connection to LC. And also Although I am not a big drinker, From what I read the bar drinks are not part of the package at the Southern Cross Club #1 are they very expensive #2 can you take a duty free bottle with you. #3 and I read somewhere that their is a self service bar where you can make your own drinks, is this true.
Sorry for all the questions but how was the food? Service etc.
Thanks for all the help and if anyone else has any imput please let me know.
Thanks Drew
We arrived at Grand Cayman at 3:00pm and took the flight to Little Cayman at 5:05pm. No problem with customs. You will have to check in with Cayman Airlines and then go through security. Depending on the load at the airport, you could have a wait there. The customs area for leaving the Island is just after security - since you are not leaving the country, just the island, don't wait in line there, just flash your ticket and tell them you are connecting to Little Cayman.
Service? Can't ask for better. 12 units, say 2 people per unit on average, and a staff of about 22, including maint. and service folks. Can't ask for a better ratio. Everything is very casual, laid back, but efficient and well done.
My bar bill was under $50. I had at least one beer an evening, a few more on Friday night. I took a small bottle of Rye down with me. The bar is on the honour system during the day and there is a bar tender in the evenings. I think Terry might have left the Island by now. If you were diving during the afternoon or night, you weren't drinking! Folks were pretty much buttoned up by 9:30 - 10:00.
Food was great - omlettes in the morning were done to order. Lunch was buffet. Dinners alternated between buffets and al acarte (you gave them your selection at lunchtime). Friday night pier party was a lot of fun.
