Hi, shot the Gates/HC9 for years, great set up. Most of the videos here where shot with it: Aquablue Dreams

What port/s and what lighting are you using? The housing itself with a Gates port is very close to neutral in the water.

LocLine vs. Metal and clamp arms: Locline arms are easy to use with the smaller Sola type lights but even at 3/4" can become "floppy" with larger lights like the Sola 4000s. Metal/Clamp systems do require a little more work to move around but are more rigid and work well with larger lights.

A little more info will help.

martin! i just sent the money for the lights so id use the sunray 2000

ports swp25b fathom port on gates hc9

and i havent bought arms yet

I don't think you will have a problem having too much buoyancy. The Gates housing is close to neutral by itself, but the fathom lens and lights are negative. More than likely you will need a foam buoyancy collar for the fathom port plus maybe buoyancy tube. I recommend 8" ULCS buoyancy arms for the lights.

i checked out your vids very cool
what did u do them with

Depends which videos you watched. All the really good UW stuff is from a Sony FX7. Tahiti UW was a Canon HV10. Tropical Dream UW was a GoPro1. Hawaii is a Sony TRV900. There is also a GoPro3 Belize video.
