Want to take home a lobster, a grouper sandwich, or bite back a trigger fish that nibbled on your ear while diving in Florida?
Saturday November 26, 2022 is the annual Saltwater "License-Free" open day to try underwater hunting. The saltwater waiver applies to any recreational harvest requiring a saltwater fishing license (e.g., crabbing, lobstering, scalloping, etc.) as well as fishing from shore or a boat. A snook or spiny lobster permit are also not required on these days. But all size and season limits still apply. (lionfish year round never needs a license, just follow it's rules)
If you ever wanted to try underwater hunting, call your favorite dive boat for Nov 26th and ask them to borrow hunting equipment like lobster gear, polespears, etc.
