I've orderd from LP twice. 1st time prompt delivery, 2nd time was last Thursday afternoon so it's not here yet. I read thier shipping policy and understood my thursday order probably wouldnt go out till Monday. If I needed it sooner, my LDS is open 7 days a week.

So why do I have to suffer because of *their* religion?! The rest of the world doesn't stop just because they do. If *their* religion doesn't permit them to ship on Friday then why not a hire a person that can and will work on Friday and Saturday - if they want the business then they should have to live and play like the rest of the world. no?

I always thought that customers that make the business bloom should come first, that is how I understand it and practice it. Perhaps not I guess?! I guess I am just pissed that I had to pay for the rush shipping for no reason.

Tamas - FYI - Not to beat the religion issue much more, but please understand that in this case, "their religion", forbids them from doing business or making money on the sabbath (Friday at sundown to Saturday at sundown). This includes hiring others to do work for them. These are some of the rules that are followed depending how devote one is.

I too have had positive experiences with LP. But the bottom line is no one has pushed me to do business with them. It has been done of my own free will and choice. I was not aware of the religious practice's that their hours revolved around until reading through this thread. Now that I have an understanding of why they keep the hours they do, I respect them even more for exercising their religious rights which they should be able to do without interference from ANYONE. What right do we have to criticize one's faith? This country's foundation was built in part around a need for freedom of religion. Let's keep that way. And "NO" I don't work for LP. Just a happy diver here in Michigan that's glad he can do business with whom he chooses.

Now if you really need something to complain about, there's this pizza place here that has the best pizza in town. But they are never open for lunch! Can you imagine that? (do it anyway) I can only eat dinner there. On top of that, they don't deliver. Isn't that a crock if you ever had one. Guess I won't be eating lunch there and I'll have to get into my car and pick it up myself. Why can't they change the way they do things just for me? (Sound familiar??) Hope this comes across as unreasonable as some of you out there. It was meant to. Go diving or something. I'll make you feel better.

I sincerely regret my raising the point that many of the folks at LP are Hasidic. My comment had absolutely nothing to do with religion and everything to do with culture. The Hasidic are different, just as the Amish are different. One might misinterpret their style. That is all I meant.

From my limited experience buying from LP I found their delivery service to be excellent. I have dealt with vendors who take a day or two to get an item from their warehouse. Gear I've ordered from LP appears to have been shipped the same afternoon I ordered it. Yes, if I had ordered on a Friday morning it wouldn't ship until Monday, which doesn't make it that different from many other stores regardless of ethnic background. My positive experience with LP may or may not be typical. It doesn't seem smart to generalize based on two purchases. Nevertheless when I need to buy more gear I will consider them.

You started the whole religious discussion by stating that you wouldn't buy from Jews and now you're pretending as if nothing happened and expect us even to respect you? Be at least as honest to admit that you were out of line, than maybe the personal attacks will stop.
