fairybasslet:Hmm. Don't the boats have heads?
awap:Something stinks and I suspect it isn't just the head.
awap:I've never seen one large enough to carry 2 groups of divers that didn't. Nor one too dirty to use in an emergency (close though). Something stinks and I suspect it isn't just the head. I have seen crews that were not as attentive as they would like you to think they are.Originally Posted by fairybasslet

BTW, new diver with high air usage going it solo is just asking for trouble. You got lucky and handled it OK.
Those experiences put you way ahead of most of us in dealing with all this, and I am surprised you didn't think of waving a fin in the air, but for the future...Fish_Whisperer:Thanks... I was a flight medic for six years in the Army, and I've been in a number of potentially fatal situations. After the initial obligatory burst of expletives, I was fine. A little irritated, but then I took stock of my options and I wasn't in any real danger.
DandyDon:Uh, have you ever been on a six-pack? I'm seen many that didn't, as well as a few 10-diver boats. "Make prior arrangements" is the norm, with your best shot at the ocean as your back up.
I'm surprised. I guess one could do 500 dives and never get on a six-pack, but it's surprising? Or maybe I misunderstood...?

Robert Phillips:It was not a photo of him doing it, but a picture posted by him of some one else doing it.
