Just wondering if anyone had experience with the P1, including the larger battery option?

Considering a DPV that I can use for my long snorkelling / freediving sessions, that I can also use for scuba diving when I get back into it. I was originally considering the Blacktip, but after reading all the flooding stories, seems like Lefeet might be a better option. I see some YT reviews from dive shops, but they were all sent pre-production units to test, so not really a real world non-biased review.

I love my P1 XR. I did a review video here (right at the same time scubajet went out of business...sigh)
I plan on buying a couple more P1's beginning of next dive season specifically to put on my thighs while free diving.

I like the concept, since I’m planning to keep getting older for now, I think, for my conceptual use that slinging it like a pony and only using it for travel from one place to another where there is nothing to see would be great and if it quits it wouldn’t be a burden.

We did a DPV shoot-out with one a few days ago. Competition was very unfair as it was a Genesis and a Tusa, both much larger and way more expensive. We went to site off-shore about 1/2 mile. The leFeet made it there but the diver was kicking the whole way, so it was more of an assist than a ride. It ran out of battery about 1/3 of the way back. This was with the smaller battery so the larger one -- which I think it a whopping 60% increase in capacity -- would have made for an ideal assist.

The size of the leFeet can't be beat and it also seems extremely safe during operation. No exposed blades and you would have to really mess up to get pulled up radically. I think for a basic dive assist it is a great option.

How does the noise compare between the Lefeet and the larger, slower turning props on the bigger DPVs?

Hmm I'm not sure about that. We probably should have swapped units around. The Genesis is very quiet, the Tusa is a bit noisier -- I'm not sure I even heard the LeFeet though. I did not notice when it stopped running so that tells you something I guess. None of the three made much noise though. We were all going pretty slow so the LeFeet could keep up, that might contribute to the low sound levels.
