I don't like to leave gear in the trunk any longer than absolutely necessary as a rule, but that's just my preference.

I just looked at my Aeris computer manual and it says max of 140 degrees F, Mares says 158 degrees. Out of all my gear I'd be more concerned about the computers being exposed to the heat in an enclosed trunk.
 
If stored in heat, a Princeton Surge dive light will crack open. You won't notice, as it is under the rubber ring. You find out after it leaks on the next dive.

They have a good warranty.
 
I’m not saying its right, wrong, will or won’t damage your gear. But for the past 30+ years our gear has been in vehicles 24-7-356. It has gone through 100+ temps in the summer shade to well below zero in the winter months.

There has never been a failure to any piece of equipment over that time and we are looking at 10 to 15 sets scattered through out the County. Not only has there never been a failure but even the life of the equipment has not shown a reduction in service life.
