RANT RANT!

That should just about cover it.

Wanna play Hangman?

_ _ _ _ / _ _ _ / _ _ _ _ _

I am so frustrated with the LDS. The prices are higher than the INTERNET, but they offer nothing more. With that premium should come service. It is not there.

Scuba Toys has some business headed their way.

Thank you, and good night.

Well prices can be less on line but who will get you fills?
They have inventory on items, have repair parts like that underwater flashlight bulb you need yesterday!
If the local LDS goes south who in the H_ _ _ is going to get you frigging fills in OH? not old Larry at ST,
Man we just had a local LDS change hands and I will do every thing I can to keep him in business, yes I do buy some things on line-But that said I first offer the purchase to the dive shop and give them a chance to meet or come close on a price as they will back it up if its screwed up!
so yes some shops are out of line TELL THEM!
second give em a chance!
third a guy dose have a right to make a mark up!
Ah I am done ranting let the flaming begin!
Dive safe,
Brad

Brad - you are correct on all points.
I let the shop know they were out of line they didn't care
I gave a second chance, and a third.....
I'm not shopping price alone. I simply expect customer service.
As a customer I work very hard to develop relation ships with businesses that are in a win win spirit. I am open and honest, and I expect the samein return. On several occasions, I bent over backwards to e a good customer. On multiple occasions I have needed the assistance or service of the shop and the response has been non existant.
end of relationship.

sounds like that shop is just in it for C-cards,too bad you dont have a mix of shops like we do close to home,
Dive safe,
Brad

whatever happened, isn't "LDS Suicide" a bit of a misleading/sensationalistic thread title?

Just as there are good LDSs and bad LDSs, there are bad online shops and worse online shops.
If you know gear and know it well, the net is a good place to buy. But most of us aren't that knowledgeable and will get ripped off. The benefit of an LDS is the ability to try things and compare features HANDS ON. Try that online!
Also, most online shops are not authorized ealers and cannot offer warranty work or trade-ins.

Bottom line - like any online purchase, BUYER BEWARE!
Post script to Bottom line - Find another dive shop! There are more than enough out there!

Ask your AOW instructor, she knows of a decent shop in Michigan that can arrange to have things delivered the next time you dive with certain DiveCon's or instructors :eyebrow: .

I believe that she has a reg and weight harness from there.
