Hello!

I have a short trip (I haven't booked it yet) for business near LAX airport.

As of now I plan to fly in on 9/30 AM, have a meeting then fly out 10/1 in AM.

I could potentially postpone my flight back to CLT to do a couple of dives in LAX area. But I am not sure if it is doable. Perhaps do a dive or two on 9/30 in the afternoon/evening?

Not knowing anything about the area dives.

I have 5 and 7 mm and used to diving colder water (quarry for example) with low visibility. I've also just completed my Rescue Diver course (and have all the requirements for MSD, including Wreck and Deep specialty).

Anyone willing to buddy up on 9/30 for a dive? (If one dive then I can fly around noon on 10/1 home.)

I think most people will have to work during the day on Wednesday, but a number of people do night dives on Wednesday night at Vet's (Redondo Beach....not terribly far away from LAX, but obviously far enough that you can't walk there). I should be available that night and would love to take you out for a night dive....but I can't commit until after Saturday.

I just had oral surgery on the 11th, and I'm scheduled to dive on the 26th. If all goes well (and I sure hope it does!), I would be happy to dive with you on the 30th. Do you have any way to get around while you're in town? Unfortunately, I work pretty far away from LAX....and live south of the airport and dive site, so picking you up is not really feasible....

Maybe some others would be interested as well....don't know if you're on DMX, but a number of those people dive Vet's on Wednesday nights as well, if I can't make it. Maybe make a post over there as well??

Cool, I will plan to get my gear then.

5mm or 7mm?

I have dive lights too.

All I would need is some tanks to rent/borrow (and air fill ;)

I guess I could rent a car as well.

I would need to make sure I could take 1:15pm flight. (That might limit me to one dive - 12 hour before flight, otherwise 18hr rule applies. Unless there are some shallow dives that would be in 30ft range or so.)

No I don't know what DMX is so I have no idea.

7mm for sure! I dive dry....I'm a huge wuss though. Water temps are routinely in the low to mid-50s at depth at Vet's....surface will probably be somewhere in the 60s though.

What tank do you normally dive with? I have spare HP130's if you would like that....better than an Al80, which is probably what you'd come across for rentals.

DMX = dive matrix, another dive forum with many active divers. If I can't make it Wednesday, I can almost guarantee someone over there will be able to :D

I would love to try HP130. So far I was doing AL80s but just because I had not opportunity to try anything else and I need to.

Will bring my 7mm then. I need to find this DMX place.

You might also want to try DiveVets. They dive Vets on Wed nights and have a message board you could go onto and introduce yourself.
