In case anyone is curious, here were the conditions at Laurel Lake (the dam) this past Sunday the 21st:

Lake level is down (approx 10 feet?). Visibility varies depending on depth, maybe 5 to 15 feet at the most. The first 20 feet are toasty warm in the 80s. Below 20 feet there is a rapid drop. My team registered a lowest temperature of 37 degrees at 75 feet. We noticed a lot of dead fish on the bottom at various depths, but also a lot of healthy fish activity as well. Pretty much standard stuff for Laurel.

On a side note I was diving with the new Scubapro/UWATEC Aladin Tec computer (set in gauge mode) and was quite impressed with it. The temperature sensor adjusted much faster than the older UWATEC bottom timer I was also using. And having the elapsed time in minutes AND seconds was quite useful for stops on the way up. Average depth displayed throughout the dive was also cool.

Sounds good. I'm newly ceritfied OW live in Richmond looking for info on good sites to dive. Especially free sites :D
