I have a new suit with a latex dry hood. It works great (warm and dry) but I get a lot of air trapped in it during the dive which is very annoying. I've heard there are vents you can get to fit on these hoods. Has anyone got one? Does anyone know where I can get one?

Many Thanks

Air getting trapped in hoods is a problem with most non vented one, exhaled air tends to find its way into the thing with the result cone-head look.

On a wet hood the solution is easy, punch some holes in it with a soldering iron or something.

On a dry hood i suspect there is no simple vent solution. Stupid suggest but have you tried hitting down on your head fairly hard to squeeze the air out? Works for me on an non-vented wet hood....

Proper trimming of the face opening is very important to avoid the exhaled air getting trapped. The whole edge must fit to the contour of the face without gap.

I also have a latex dry hood and it can be tricky venting
air on ascent. I was told to look up and tilt head back and
to the side. This puts the side of your forehead near the
highest point on your head. The latex at this point is slightly
less tight against the skin than elsewhere and the air can escape in a sort of one way valve. Sometimes a bit of
gentle hand pressure on the top of your head helps to
push the air out.

I use them, and they work great. You can get some from Bob3.
