Well my boat is out of the water for the season unfortunately. It's back to the shore dives for the winter less some occasional charters if I am lucky. What is the scoop these days for parking at Folly and other popular sites?

Thanks

Last season, I did a lot of shore dives off Folly (day, night), parked right at small patch by entry point and wasn't ticketed. One time, I remember surfacing and Rockport Police officer was waiting for us. He asked if we were lobstering, we said we found nothing, asked us about dive and left.

You can never tell. You always run risk of being ticketed so part at your own risk.

Earlier this summer at Folly police were patrolling heavily for non-resident parkers at the dive entrace. Just drop off your gear and drive up the street to the left and park on the side of the first side road off the main street. The locals can get mostly understandably protective, as many have read or experienced, when it is busy and you still may get a ticket even if you aren't breaking the law. The locals pay taxes and the local police seem to be aware of that fact. Most locals we spoke with were VERY cool. BTW, if you are a local in this area, you can park (a nice officer told us) right at the entrance where the stone bench is. However, I have heard conflicting reports on this so....
