Can anybody tell me what I need to connect my lap top to the TV so that I can bore more of my friends to tears simultaneously with my u/w pictures? It is a hp ze 2000.
Ed:D

I'm personally familiar with the HP ze 2000, but I do have a laptop and seen a bunch of others. Lately most laptops having been coming out with a port on the back that is for an s-vhs cable. The port is round with for pin holes and a rectangular hole. This will connect to most medium to high-end tvs. They also have an adapter that goes from the s-vhs plug to a composite (yellow rca plug) which is pretty common on most tvs. If you do not have this port on your computer, your going to have to buy a piece of hardware roughly around $100 which you can connect to the monitor output of your laptop. This box converts the signal from the monitor plug to an rca or s-vhs plug. If have an HDTV, you may have an input for either computer monitor or dvi, either of which will give better quality.

Hope that helps some.

Thank you very much I am going to ck right now!:D

No unfortunately no port like that. There is a port with a symbol that looks like a triangle with circles at each corner?? Going to look for manual

Nope it was only on select models . Do have a monitor port however and going to look into adapter thanks! Ed

The spec sheet sez the HP ZE2000 does indeed have a TV out (in the form of S-Video) jack.
Next is to see if any of the TV, VCR, DVD gizmos have one.
The critters are pretty cheap, as long as the big retail stores are avoided.

You may have to go into "device settings" and select "TV", and then change your screen resolution to 800x600.

Thanks Bob but my manual says select models only and I definitely don't have that port on my lap top. I have used s-video before with digital video camera and my desk top has a video card w/ a tv tuner with one.

If you have PCMCIA card that has a TV tuner then hook it up to your television

Pinnacle Systems Dazzle Digital Video Creator 90 something like this at BestBuy.com

You need one of THESE.

I wonder if one could copy the pics back to the card in the camera and hook up from there....?

I have played directly from Camera to TV, but not this approach exactly.
