Hi

I had a L4/L5 laminectomy without the hardware on Nov 1st 2010 and it is still slowly improving with more work necessary on my core strength and mobility.

My surgeon has suggested I can dive when I feel comfortable carrying a tank and my fitness is sufficient. I am not at that place yet.

Any ideas of any issues or exercises I should be doing associated with diving post a laminectomy ? I am starting to dry out and getting twitchy - if you know what I mean.

regards

Well, as you know, core strength is what helps stabilize your lumbar spine. I'm assuming you have a physical therapist and an exercise program? You might discuss with him whether some Pilates would be appropriate -- it is heavily focused on core strength.
