I'll be going to Lake Whitney on a little camping trip with a Cousin and his wife/kids. We'll be there from June 12th till June 17th. He's going to be with his family but he invited me for a bit of diving...hehe.

Have any of you been diving here? I found these sites: http://www.scubaadventurer.com/the-scuba-park.htm , http://www.texasdiver.com/tdiver.pl?trips.waco.lake_whitney_2 , and http://www.divewhitney.com/

Please reply with your personal experiences. I've read that the cove isnt very good especially below 48ish feet.

Here is a link to a report on Whitney that I posted in Oct. 2002. The major difference will be the time of year. I hope it helps.

Quite discouraging hehe...but thanks for the info though. I woulda picked lake travis if i was the coordinator but hey...he's paying for the campsite...no complaints here.

Please let us know how the diving goes there!

I have heard there are pecan orchards that many divers have been in tangled some loosing their lives. I am sure there i some good diving just beware.

Well, I'll have a buddy. Hopefully we wont encounter anything that the two of us wont be able to handle.

Moostang ... A budy and myself assisted instructing a Stress and Rescue class there two years ago. After the class, we took a trip down the to 85' platform. It was pitch black and the smell was not the best. As for the cove, it was great for the class but not a place I would pick for a pleasure dive. This is just my opinion from my one experience there two years ago. hey, any dive is better than no dive. :)

There was a report of a funnel cloud over Lake Whitney this afternoon at about 5:15. I don't know if it did any damage or not. If I see any further reports, I'll post them here.
