Well I can hardly wait for thursday when I hit up CatalinaClemente for 3 days of diving. And will be able to see something versus the nice green haze in the water at teh lake.

I'm heading out Thursday as well; conditions sound fantastic, 25' viz from shore this weekend in the OC, hope the conditions hold....

Garrett,

Any idea what teh temperatures have been like, I am presuming around 55 at depth. Yes hopefully the conditons will hold. Will make the weekend all the much better.. The good thing though is that the boat I am on has 14 students on it, which means they can go do there stuff in the shallows and I can do go do some good dives, and they won;t be around to silt the place up. Not tha I haven;t been thee myself not to long ago. But it makes the dive a lot more interesting when 30 divers are not in the same spot.

61F in the 30-50' range in Laguna; probably a couple degrees cooler out at the Islands (and deeper).

Hmm that is about what I figured. Not much different then 65F then for insulation needed with the drysuit. Bare in mind I do not get cold very easily. Should be absolutely fantastic for diving, can hardly wait.

I dove the Casino Point dive park at Catalina this last weekend (11/17) for the very first time. The water temp average according to my computer was 60 - 61. There was no notable thermocline at depth up to 69' (did no go outside of the park). With a 7 mil wetsuit and hood I was comfortable and never gave the water temp a single thought. Viz was at least 60+ in the morning but decreased somewhat in the day due to the number of divers in the park. Should be perfect Thanksgiving weekend. There is a cold front coming through but should not affect anything but S.I. conditions.

Should be nice this weekend...

Wave conditions

Should be nice this weekend...

Wave conditions
It was beautiful in Laguna, had 20-35' of viz, no waves, little to no wind, a couple feet of surge, 63-59F Bottom Temps, topside it was in the high 70's at the beach, sunny w/ clear skies except for Sunday, when the "marine layer" never cleared. Did 5 shore dives Fri-Sun, all really nice!

Next weekend, I'm on a live-aboard in the N. Channel Islands, should be even better (I hope)

Catalina had great conditions also. Ship rock had incredilble vis Friday morning , Bird not so much in the afternoon. Saturday vis was not bad, weather was beautiful and lobsters weren't hiding, Sunday has a pretty good current as expected but not an issue with scooters. Large school of really big yellow fin tuna passed by while on deco. Hadn't seen that since Cortes Banks. Nice weekend. Funny we are all postingthis in the Lake Pleasant thread :)
