Dove Meredith when I first started diving. Spring Canyon (or Stilling Basin) depends on who you ask was used for OW training. It had a platform at about 25 feet - right at the thermocline. Nearer to shore there was a tractor tire, toilet, few catfish, vis was 10 ft on a great day down to cancel the checkout dives due to vis.

The lake itself we dove a couple of times by the marina for dock equipment retrieval, vis 5 feet. Went into the main body of the lake once for s + r training/anchor retrieval (successful as boat owner had a good GPS fix). At about 50 ft deep absolutely no sunlight penetration, could not see buddy or light (we were attached with 6 ft buddy line) and sometimes when you held your gauges and light to your mask you could read the gauges. It was really pretty cool, but not for the untrained or faint at heart.
