Dove the cemetery yesterday...some bonehead had cut the marker buoy off...had to gps it and drop down my anchor line...got to the bottom and saw the down line about 10 feet away...what luck! Came back up the main line and brought the line back to the surface and marked it with an orange slalom course buoy, so it can be found easily again. I let Brandon know what we found and did.

I did 2 dives at the lake with the SUMER CLEAN UP 2011. A great day of diving.met some more Jocassee divers. I would like to thenk the Park Rangers for ther quick respons to our call of a boater refusing to stay clear of our boat w/ divers going in the water (with flag ) he was asked to stay clear 300' and to go around the back side of our boat. He refused and continued arguing with the boat captin and dive master . So THAMK YOU.

Did he at least get ticketed or towed? The arrogance of some people is amusing but if there is no punishment for them then what is the point of having laws regarding proximity to dive flags?

I think he may have they spent a good 20+ minutes talking to him . we where undrer for 45 minutes . And the boat we were on was fallowing or bubbles along the shore line towards the divers ramp. when we started back, to the dock we didn"t see the guy or his boat

We made two nitrox hour+ dives at the diver's ramp at Jocassee today. The Lake is very low, but vis was very good. With the lake being low, the good news is that you can be in the trees without having to go deep. MY max depth was 90', but much of the dive was in the 70's. Lowest water temp was 65F. Lots of small cats in the trees and groupings of small fish. Many large bass. The parking lot was not crowded at all. Beautiful day... we are back in the Savannah River tomorrow.

I did 2 dives Sunday 1st dive 60 minutes max depth 52' second dive 43 minutes max depth 62'. water temps surface was 73* at 30' to 60' temp was 75* . viz was ok 20' or so was a little murky . the ramp got a lot more divers on it after 10:30 -11:00

The lake will stay fairly warm through October, my last dive there last year was October 30th and I dove with a 3mm 2 piece and was 61 @ 65'

Does any one have the water temps for the lake of resent? Is the lake cooling down much at 50" and down to 100" . Who all is diving the Halloween weekend w/ Jocassee dive shop?I will be diving Sunday (30th) Looking forward to getting back up to the lake . see you all then

Dove today. It was 71 degrees down to about 80 ft. Then it was 46-48. I have exact numbers on my slate but i am to lazy to look right now.

The lake is really really low. The bottom of the junk is around 40 ft. The top of the mast is at 11ft (if i remember correctly). The main boat ramp dock is completely unusable as it is totally grounded, you can walk all the way around it.
