Anyone going out this weekend? I've got a friend coming in tomorrow all the way from New York, and we are going to drive to LJ from Atlanta early Saturday am. The plan is to go out with OTW/LJ Dive shop Sat am and Sat NIGHT (!) and Sun am (to the graveyard), with ramp dives in the afternoon both Sat and Sun. Sunday a couple of other friends from Atlanta are coming down for the day, too.

I've gotten a lot of great information from a few of you that I am going to print out and reference (Re the ramp dives/forest) but was wondering if anyone was going to be around?

That sounds like an awesome weekend of diving. I still want to get in a night dive along "The Wall" but my permission for diving this week has been revoked. :(

Our group is coming up Saturday to dive the ramp in the a.m. We will be getting fills at OTW so we may see you there.
Darn and you guys are going to be there too. We are looking into the possibly of coming up to drift the river with you guys. Ken is coming up on his 100th dive and was looking at that as one of the options.

I would love to come and dive this weekend. I've been in Panama City Beach all week and have gotten three dives in, but I do miss my mistress, the lady lake.

Kate, you will be diving on Sunday, right? What plan do you have for the afternoon? I notice that you are DIR practitioner. I am GUE curious and would lI've to dive with you as I hope to tie fundies in the spring. I have no problem showing you around the Forrest, but I would have to dive air, as that is all my certs allow. If you preferred Instay shallower with you, I may just dive a singles rig and wetsuit.

All of this is of course granting I can make it up there and you do not mind a temperary addition to your team.

We had two nice dives from the ramp - both into the trees to the left of the ramp. We hit the usual spots - bones family, and the 60' "wall" in addition to the trees, training platforms, etc. Vis was very nie at depth on dive 1 - maybe upwards of 30-40' in the trees, 15' or so at the safety stop. Lots of OW students so less near the platforms. Lots of bass, catfish, carp. Dive 1 was 101' for 67 min and dive 2 was 89' for 82 min.

Temp in the trees?

I would like to give LJ a try this long weekend. Anyone diving it (within rec limits)?

I'll be up there this afternoon with a buddy of mine.
