I thought I would share our recent experience with Oceanic. First, we have an Oceanic Prodigy my dad has used since late 90’s. It’s like a Timex watch…it takes a licking and keeps on ticking. For simple use ..it’s hard to beat for recreational diving.
Recently, we started playing around on eBay and added 2 Oceanic Pro Plus 3 units. to our collection. They appear to work fine however I found out they can be sent to Oceanic and they will evaluate the units for only $30. I sent them to Oceanic and found out 1 unit had a problem with measuring depth accurately. They sent back the good unit. Oceanic then offered a replacement in kind unit with a warranty for $175. This was a good deal in my opinion. Throughout all of this, Oceanic always responded quickly..24 hours or less. They were friendly and helpful. Just thought I would share. In comparison, we were looking at a Mares computer…..they were not helpful at all. Referred me to dive shops that did not service computers
Hope this was helpful.
