I just had a very enjoyable visit to the Big Island of Hawaii - my fist visit - 5 days of diving and a couple of topside days (for volcanoes, waterfalls, coffee and beaches)

I dived for a couple of days on Jack's Diving Locker's large boat - it was very well organized so didn't feel like lots of divers. The dive guides (esp Doug) were good at finding interesting things as well. I also did a day on their small boat, including a very interesting Blackwater night dive, where you basically just hang tethered to a down-line at 40ft or so, just seeing what will come along. Very cool.

The last couple of days I dives with Wanna-Dive-Kona (http://www.wanna-dive-kona.com) - Steve, the owner is Friscuba on SB. Smaller boat, and Bob the guide was great at finding things. Certainly recommended, especially if you like smaller groups.

The Mantas were out in force this week - I did the Manta dive twice (start and end of week) and saw loads of them both dives - an amazing sight.

will get around to processing photos soon, but here is a vid clip. not too bad from my digital camera - it was hard to take good photos of them,
