Where are all my fellow land-locked KW divers?
Where abouts to you all go diving, what are some favorite sites? What about dive shop recommendations?

Well I'm not quite KW. I work in Brantford and live about 25 km south from Brantford, towards Lake Erie. I do most of my diving in Lake Erie, with some training dives in Gulliver's Lake near African Lion Safari. The shop I am doing my DM cert with runs charters in Lake Erie during the summer, so if you or anyone else is interested, please PM me and I'll get you some details.

Jim

Hello and welcome,

I Live in Kitchener, and do most of my diving in Tobe, St. Lawrence, Lake Erie, and Lake Ontario. I do all my training through Dean's Sport and Dive, although I have done a few dives with Tricity, all good guys.

Unfortunatly, being a diver, and living here you drive alot.

I live it Kitchener. Did my OW & AOW at (where else) Groundhog Divers. Certified in 2001, "Hogged" in Sept 2002. All my diving to date has been fresh (usually cold) water. My favourite place to dive is Kingston, although I don't get there near as often as I'd like, but the variety of wrecks is awesome. I haven't done any charters at Toby, but lots of shore dives, love the back wall. Too many dives at Cedar Hill, dove the wrecks around Hope Island, spring tune up dives at Gullivers. Also done some trips to Gilboa Quarry and recommend anyone who hasn't already, make the trip. Usually dive the JC Morrison a couple of times a year. And always seeking new sites.

I'm north of Kitchener. Deans Dive is my home shop.

3-hour radius:Tobermory (boat and shore)
2-hour radius: Wiarton (Cedar Hill and Fish Hatchery), Barrie, Humber Bay, Gulliver's, Niagara River,
Sherkston Quarry, Chippewa Creek (though I'm waiting to hear what the Niagara Divers' Association meeting this week has to say about conditions in the Chip)
4-5-hour radius: Kingston, Brockville

I haven't done the Tiller Wreck yet, would like to......

I dive with the gang at Groundhog Divers. (not as often as I would like due to work family etc)
Great bunch! Lots of good trips to the south as well as local dives.
Shop has the best selection and prices in the area. (IMO)
Check em out.

I just recently started diving, currently in my certification.
Tri City Dive Shop is my home dive shop.

Great people, and when compared to web pricing, there pricing is really good.

Hi,

Moved to Waterloo from Vancouver in the summer. So most of my diving is done in Vancouver. Favourite cold water dive site would be Snake Island Wall off of Nanaimo. I have yet to dive in Ontario.

I've been into both Groundhog and Tri-City and will probably frequent Groundhog due to location and I've enjoyed the conversations I've had with the owner. They also carry the gear I use. Where is Dean's? Does anyone have a website link?

Cheers,
Bill.

Dean's is 1595 Victoria St. N., Unit A101. Head towards Guelph from the expressway. Past lights at Lackner, (there's a Tim's on the corner), up the hill there's another set of lights at Forfar. Dean's is either the 2nd or 3rd driveway on the right when your headed towards Guelph. There's an RC hobbyshop and custom cycle shop at the front of the building, take the driveway between the two buildings, turn to the right at the bottom and Dean's is right there. Great folks, they do recreational, but they are the local "technical" shop.

Hi Bill, welcome to Waterloo! I think one of these days someones going to have to set up an underwater ultimate game :). I notice that's on your list of likes and dislikes and such. I play Sundays in the RIM Park leage.

I'm always in the market to go diving, as I'm sure are the other folks around!

On a side note, does anyone know if they'll let us dive at Gullivers this time of year? I just got a new BC *whoohoo* and I want to do some skills practice.
