OK peeps,

HowardE, Michelle and I will be diving with Scuba Luv on the King Neptune out of Catalina on May 31, 2007! You can book your trip by calling [SIZE=-1]310-510-2350. Dr Bill will be our host for the trip, and we hope to be diving Casino Point the next morning just prior to arriving in Long Beach for the Scuba Show that weekend.

So, the real question is: should I bring my 3 mil, or should I go commando? :D

LOL... 3mm or commando?

I was using a drysuit when I was there.

Just got a dive report from long-time SoCal diver Steve Benavides who dove the island this weekend off his personal boat. Vis at Ship Rock was 30-40 ft. Fairly good for this time of year (plankton season). Surface temp about 61, but cool "upwellings" have brought subsurface temps down as low as 52 even at moderate depths. Howard- Don't let Michelle read that!

Look forward to seeing those who can make this trip! Maybe we can make beer milkshakes that night, or sample some classic Catalina buffalo milks!

Isn't there Karaoke going on that evening?

Unfortunately, I'll be in MN that weekend and am flying out that Thursday.

Didn't you win a dry suit at DEMA last year? This would be a great time to use it. You're definitely going to want at least a 7mm wetsuit. The water temps at La Jolla Shores over the last few days have been down to 48º. It's not Catalina, but that's also possible there.

Did you get 2? His and Hers?

(Remember..You might need some extra lead for those suckers)

No - just a small... I'll be fine in my layers of fleece.

I hope :D

This will be funny. Michelle will have her nice warm Sleeping bag on...and you will be freezing your nards off. ;)

Guys! Come on! You are acting like a bunch of Cali Cuties here. It's only 50 degrees! You don't have to be Conan the Cold Water Barbarian to do that. :D
