Horizon divers are really good. Nice boats, friendly boat crew and staff. If you dive doubles they will rent twin alm 80's. Really enjoyed a double dip on the Grove. My wife really enjoy her dives here as a new diver. Hope that helps..

I've stayed at the Hilton and was very happy. Been trying to make this an annual trip over New Years. Also, both times I've dove with Rainbow Reef and absolutely am pleased with them!

Add another vote for ocean pointe. Good location and nice condos. Not much of a restaurant on sight though. Stop at Harriettes for breakfast at least once, great food and tons of it.

Hey, I never thought of that. I always buy the local Entertainment Book and end up rarely using any coupons.:dork2:

Gotta buy the Florida Keys version next year...

Shameless plug-Pennekamp. If not, just about any (with a few exceptions) will do. Old Friends at OD, consistent. Nothing but good things heard about Scuba Do, Silent World or that "new kid on the block", Sail, Fish, Scuba.

When are you coming back so we can dive together this time! PS the infamous paella restaurant closed so we'll have to go to another favorite. :)

The Florida Keys is the dive capitol of the world (or so the Welcome sign at the entrance says...lol).
Key Largo, is an eat, sleep, dive town. Key West has some diving and alot of touristy activities.

There are more dive ops than gas stations here so there is something for everyone. Many operators participate here on Scubaboard so feel free to contact them. There are small 6 pack boats if you have a small party, there are medium sized boats, and there are big boats (usually roomy and very stable for those that could get seasick). There are shops that cater to hunters or rebreathers or tech divers. A few include a free dive guide (usually an intern), a few have their boats parked right outside a hotel, one op caters to non-English speaking Germans, French, & Spanish speakers, a couple that only sell gear. There are several career development centers.

It all depends on what YOUR expectations & abilities are. I recommend you do a search as this is a very common topic and you will find many often praised ops, contact those ops to see if they match your expectations. I have friends at many ops and we all work hard so that you have a fun safe dive vacation and come back again.

I am an independent instructor and work with several shops in town. Feel free to contact me if you need any assistance with customized diving or accommodation recommendations.
Let me know when you are in town, maybe we can meet for a .

    Welcome to the Keys! [IMG]

Ever consider heading North a little bit? Pompano Beach area has some great reefs and wrecks. And then there is the World Famous Blue Heron Bridge in Riviera Beach...a must do activity!

If you are interested, give us a call and we can hook you up with a local dive boat.
