Any local knowledge out there? I am thinking of flying down to Key Largo Th/Fri to dive. I am newly certified. The marine forecast reads:

Thursday And Friday
North to northeast winds near 15 knots. Seas beyond the reef 3 to 6 feet...except higher in the Gulf Stream. Seas inside the reef around 2 feet. Nearshore waters a moderate chop. Isolated showers

Can anyone say if these are ok newbie conditions?

Thank much

Based on this forecast... plan on 2-3' seas at the reef. These are GREAT conditions, unless you happen to be especially prone to motion sickness. That being said, keep an eye on the weather. The forecast tends to become more accurate as the date in question draws nearer. In Key Largo, north winds are a lot kinder than east winds. 20kts out of the north is nice, whereas 20kts out of the east is sloppy. Enjoy!

What are the water temps on the wrecks now? We have a group coming in from Houston this weekend also.
