PADI Knight:
Hmm piranah blue gill bet that's what got me on the ear at Joe's during my last OW cert dive this summer. Hey any ideas where the daughter and I can go to dive during her HS spring break in April? Looking for a place not too far away or too expensive since she'll be heading off to college an we have some fees to pay by May first to the college she's going to.

Ginnie Springs usually isn't too busy at Spring Break time. Stay away from ANY COAST or you'll be in the thick of spring breakers.

If you opt for the springs. You may want to consider Devil's Den in addition to Ginnie.

I've gone to Ginnie the last week in March for several years now and haven't had any crowding complaints.

The Fla. springs have my vote, PC would be just TOO darn crowded!

So what's the deal with the ear, they don't make waterproof Light Sabers???

Driving, flying, what's the scoop? I think I am going to pass on the Blackbeards. Great price but bad timing.

Springs?
I usually drive down, it helps if there is more than one person to drive.
I did it solo last year, and DARNED I WAS TIRED!!!!

Land Locked, (and anyone else interested.:D )

How about driving down on the 16th and coming back on the 19th. That would give us two full days of diving.

I talked to my brother-in-law today and he's up for it also.

I've cleared the 16th with my work, now we need to get a head count.
I figure we will find a place in Lake City to stay and dive Ginne and Devil's
Den unless there are some other ideas floating out there. BTW these are
"overhead environments" that are loosely cleared for open water divers.
If anyone is interested but are claustrophobic, think twice.

"So what's the deal with the ear, they don't make waterproof Light Sabers???" I was only a PADIwan learner at the time land locked and hadn't mastered the skill of underwater light saber usage yet. Hadn't fine tuned the use of the force to pick up on sneak attacks from such creatures as the piaranah blue gill.

Thanks for the suggestions folks I'll pass them along to my daughter and see what she's interested in.

I had been talking with some guys from work about making this trip but I think all of them has backed out now but one so I've tentatively got four people going. I'll know for sure by tonight. If all else fails It will be me and my son for sure.

How about camping at Ginnie Springs. The weather should be mid 70's or better during the day and mid to low 60's at night. Good sleeping bag and a camp fire and were set.

John

Lake City is a fer piece to Ginnie and Devil's Den. You may want to consider staying closer, possibly in between the two. You could also check out Rennaker's to see if he's got any of his rentals available, as well as staying in one of Cathy's cabins.

I haven't camped since I left Colorado in 1984, I would miss my creature
comforts. Lake city is 35 minutes from Ginnie, and has many good restaurants
available. I guess I could forgo some comforts and purchase a sleeping bag
and sleep in the car at Ginnie.
