Like the title says, thought I would say hi! I was initially certified by PADI in 1982 in Italy where I was stationed. Did some diving over there, nothing much, did some diving in Panama S.A. during jungle training, nothing much. And very little in the US. I bought some gear from a buddy who thought he would dive, but never did. I couldn't ever find a buddy to dive with, and all the local shops had these guys who if you weren't a student and didn't spend a bunch of money they didn't want to have a thing to do with you.

Well, now a good friend of mine has become certified! And another buddy who is certified wants to join us. We have discovered a local quarry that is regulated, has fills, and is easy to get to (relatively). I have everything I need to include a tank. Nothing fancy, but it all works well, and based on my readings on here will do the job.

I have several questions I'll be asking and hope to contribute when possible. Right now I'm doing a bunch of reading and getting caught up with the terminology.

Right now I'm going to research the retractable compasses, I discovered that I have a hard right turn in my kick so I'll need something in the murky water.

Thanks and done.

Welcome to the board!

Good to hear you found a local buddy. I know the feeling. There is an active dive club in Lubbock, but then - I like ocean diving too much.
