of what you have listed you should go with AL no matter where you are in the world, it should not be a problem finding someone to fix it

I'm sure this is confusing the hell out of you... I haven't dove any of the regs you list (however, I have an Apeks XTX50, and I understand it's a Legend Clone -- and it's FABULOUS).

I also have Atomic B2's, and both, the Atomic and Apeks, breathe as well at depth, as on the surface. Neither breathes wet. I've had no free flow issues with either (the Apeks is a bit more adjustable in this regard, with both an inhalation sensitivity adjustment, as well as a manually adjustable venturi on the same reg).

They're both bulletproof, as far as I'm concerned. Neither is an economy buy. The Atomic only requires servicing once every two years (so you make up a bit of the price after a couple of years).

Don't stint on the reg. It's not just a reliability factor... it's a comfort factor... It's nice when you can forget you even have a reg in your mouth...

I'm not there yet but my wish list has a ScubaPro MKII (mentioned above) w S555 2nd & r295 octo.
Or I like the swivel on the Delta4 but you said the din adapter would delete the DVT (I think they have a 1st without dvt).

i have 3 zeagle tech 50/zx and 1 flathead 6/zx regulators. they have been great. they are enviromentaly sealed, you can get service kits for them and are good in cold water. so my vote is zeagle.

I'd second the suggestion to get something which can easily be serviced locally. I bought my husband Zeagle regs for Christmas, and it turns out none of the shops we normally patronize work on them, so he has to drive them clear into downtown Seattle to get them worked on. It's not that far, but it's awfully inconvenient.

I was just told that I didn't want a MKII because it is unbalanced and does not swivel
Sooooo scratch that one from my list.
I will need to research some of these others now for a back up plan.
AquaLung and Oceanic should be enough of a choice for me tho.

Those are nice regulators, especially the G250v, superb. However, I guess the Sherwood will do just about anything a diver needs if he doesn't mind the little stream of bubbles coming out of the first stage. Really a neat first stage. I would never have thought of it. So what if the Genesis DVT is not available with the DIN. Ridiculous idea anyway.I don't want a check valve in the HP line. Might jam or something.

I would go with Delta 4,its going to be the smoothist breather out of the ones you listed.
However,i cannot believe that Scubapro MK17/G250v is not on your list.
If it where i would choose it.:D

IF it was me I would buy the dive rites if I had to pick from that list. I own 7 mk17's with S600's (no octo's) so naturally thats what I tell everyone to buy. MK2's work for shallower stuff above 100 ft like on deco tanks.

Thanks for all the suggestions!

I ended up going with the Blizzard. I haven't heard anything bad about them, and the price was unbeatable.

If I had an unlimited income I would get an Atomic, but like others have said they are over priced. I sort of feel like boycotting Aqualung, Scubapro, Atomic, etc. that has diver un-friendly policies of not allowing sales through the internet. Come on, it is the 21st century. The MK17 does look nice though and certainly could have been on my list.

It was hard not ordering the Delta 4, but the closest service center is about 2 - 3 hours away.

I really think the dive rite might be the best regulator for me, and when it gets to the point where I feel like I need a new toy, it might be one of those :)

Thanks again for the help :)
