mono lake is a hazmat dive due to the high salt content and basic pH; i would hard pass on that.

sierra dive center and adventure scuba are in reno. the shop that used to be in south tahoe is closed permanently afaik. tahoe dive center in carson city is more convenient for gear return because taking 431 past mt rose from sand harbor back to reno involves going up to 8900ft/2700m. better off sticking to the safer route on 580.

sand harbor is less interesting than emerald bay/rubicon wall too imo. CA also doesn't require towing a float/flag.

i would just rent from tahoe dive center and dive the rubicon wall/emerald bay for one day.
