SDI has a trip to Bonaire in October usually. Includes airfare, 7 nights, breakfast, 6 boat dives and unlimted tanks for shore dives. All that's not included is lunch, dinner and rental car. I think they sell it for $1500 or $1700. Not a bad deal.

Well everyone has left early today so I guess I'm in charge...hummmm...what to do, what to do???

The fact that you don't know what to do even when you are the only one left is all the more reason NOT to leave you in charge.......That's why I am in charge, even when I'm not around:D

Somehow a quote from the movie True Grit comes to mind, but it really does not fit all aspects of the aforementioned situation.

Hey Michael,I feel exactly what you are talking about. Our ship sailed out of Coz at 6:00 on Saturday. I watched dive boat after dive boat go down the reef from the marina with plenty of happy looking divers on board. I just wished I had been there too. Ship departure was at the wrong time for a night dive. Maybe next time.
I too could have fit in another boat dive after my 2. But we shopped instead. BAH.

Yeah, it was heart breaking to see all those lil boats zipping off into the sunset without me. :( I won't miss Mezcalito's next time. As much as I'd like to dive, I doubt I will again on a cruise. That's time for family... the all inclusive though... who's family?

I think I am going to Bonaire with Southern Skin Divers Supply,1595.00 including rental truck and breakfast. SDI's trip is over the Fathers Day holiday and I cant miss that day with my child, You know. They are staying at Sand Dollar Resort.

All this talk about Bonaire has got me wanting to be "a little out there"...what airport are you departing from? Are these prices double occ. in hotels? Are you located right on the beach for shore diving or do you have to travel from the hotel to the beach? Come on guys, give a girl some more details...I've never been out of the country...also, how does the diving compare with Aruba? I can swap a week of my timeshare and get a condo in Aruba in June or July. They don't have an opening for Bonaire. It might be cheaper to just do the package rather than trying to book my airfare and diving separate...ideas please

Now you've done it. Mike will soon be giving you all the details (actually)

My humble opimion. For the first visit go with a package offered through a dive shop. Better start getting your passport as well.

I thought they always stayed at Capt Don's. (Maybe they changed to Sand Dollar this year).

I didn't catch that earlier that it was over Fathers Day weekend. that's pretty stupid of them. I'd guess that will easily exclude over half of their customers from going.

As for whether the rental truck is included or not is not a big deal. They run about $120/week I'm told, which split between 4 people is about $30 bucks each. (plus gas, etc) so no big deal.
