Just joined your group.....I am a new diver and going for my first ocean/drift dive to Cozumel.

Very interesting information and has helped me with one problem already - I think - I'll let you know when I try it - clearing water from the mask.

I too have a problem with getting water up my nose and wanting to gag and go up...you can't do this if you're down 60ft.

I'm going to try clearing my mask with head tilted down and then as water clears raise head higher until mask is clear of all water. Thanks again for the tip

Welcome aboard! just remember to take it slow, think thing out before doin them. It all takes practice.
 
Drift diving from Texas to Cozumel - that's a helluva dive! Ambitious!
