Did I meet you at a BBQ last weekend? We have a group of divers that shore dive South Florida beaches with Genesis scooters. Over the past 6 months we have covered a lot of ground.
Different divers have different ways of doing this - the land turtle is quite nice - sometimes we take two trips and just put our scooters at the edge of the sand with the logic of "this thing is heavy as ****. no beach thief is strong enough to run away"Your maps are really cool and alot of ground covered.
Quick question..........Scooters & tanks are not light weight. How do you get everyone's gear from your car/truck to the water's edge. Do you use carts or one person carry's then stays with the gear while the car driver searches for parking? That's some expensive gear and gotta keep eyes on it.
From their IG page it may be temporary due to storms?Rumor has it that Scuba Works changed their locks overnight and are closed for business.
Nope, we met last year diving with BUBB.Did I meet you at a BBQ last weekend?
I took my Tusa to a beach dive once and my buddy suggested taking it first to drop it off and then go get geared up. I was like... I'm not leaving a $4,000 piece of equipment unattended at LBTS. The walk sucked balls, but I wasn't willing to risk losing my scooter.Different divers have different ways of doing this - the land turtle is quite nice - sometimes we take two trips and just put our scooters at the edge of the sand with the logic of "this thing is heavy as ****. no beach thief is strong enough to run away"
And sometimes, some crazy people, myself included, throw it on our shoulder and march step by step through the sand. DPV on shoulder, BCD on back. Yeah, this method sucks.
We usually rely on diving during non-busy times on the beach, early morning or later evening when foot traffic isn't so plentiful. We also usually keep beach dives for weekdays to minimize the risk of boat traffic. I don't want to deal with drunk jet skiers when I'm 1+ miles offshore with only my DPV.
That's from a week ago. It's pretty common knowledge now, the shop is shut down. From their IG page it may be temporary due to storms?
FWIW I know nothing about the rumors of changed locks
