I did four dives with a group from Tampa over the weekend.
The water temps were lower than I expected, a 3 mill shortie
was less than what I needed. I think my 3 mill full with a hood
would have been great but of course I left the hood behind as well
thinking it would not be needed. The currents were very strong but we
were able to get off four dives. The seas were a little rough saturday but
flattened out sunday considerably. The currents continued to be strong on sunday
but the improved topside conditions were appreciated. Here's the dives so anyone
planning on diving can get an idea of the profiles.

7-22 78ft 32min 80f
7-22 71ft 30min 75f
7-23 77ft 32min 77f
7-23 67ft 40min 77f

How was the vis? I'll be there next week, and while I know it can change overnight, I was just wondering. I'm afraid the current is going to be smokin fast...not much fun...but we'll see. Maybe it won't be too hot for golf if the diving stinks.

Any remarkable critters?

I was out 7/22 for the 2-tank morning dive with Capt. Paul on the Temptation (www.jupiterdivecharters.com). First drop was on Spade Fish and second was on Lighthouse. Seas were in the 1-2 ft. range with the occasional 3 ft. swell. Visibility at both sites was top to bottom vertical and 50 - 60 ft horizontal. Bottom temp at both sites was 81 degrees.

Ed Jewell- 60ft of vis and 81 degrees. That is more like it!

I am diving off the Temptation Friday 7/28, and less neoprene is better.

We went out on Republic IV Saturday night on Scarface and Loggerhead. Seas were 1-2 water was 78 at Scar and 77 at loggerhead. Vis was about 40.

We had very acceptable vis but it was not the fantastic vis you can
get on a great day up there. I was in Pompano over the fourth and
recorded nothing less than 83F so I was kind of planning on that.
We hit very noticeable thermoclines when the temps dropped to
75F to 77F, they were all good dives and way better than work !
